Equal Opportunities

We believe it is very important that all children have every opportunity to fulfil their maximum potential. We ensure that all our children, regardless of gender, ability, physical abilities, social background or ethnicity have equal access to a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum.

Disability

Our school has responded to the review of the Disability Discrimination Act in 2002 and we make every effort to remove barriers that make it impossible or unreasonably difficult for disabled people to access services. Our inclusion in disability awareness training and the completion of a school access plan are just two of the actions we have taken to address this important area of equal opportunities.

Accessibility Plan

Newsham First School has a School Accessibility Plan which details access for the disabled. This plan is available for inspection at school. Since the plan was published a new ramp has been built outside the Robins’ classroom.
